Cheers To Charity: David Wells Perfect 33 Foundation
Dugout Mugs is proud to announce that the Perfect 33 Foundation is our July Cheers To Charity recipient. Started by 3x All-Star, 2x World Series Champion, and perfect game hurler David "Boomer" Wells and his wife Nina, the foundation helps aid military veterans and their families.
"One cause at a time, the Perfect 33 Foundation is dedicated to helping provide the resources to aid military veterans and their families, community enrichment, medical research, education, and athletic programs."
At Dugout Mugs, we've always respected and supported military and first responders. For Founder and President Randall Thompson, as well as CEO and Partner Kris Dehnert, the chance to once again work with David and his charity, The Perfect 33 Foundation, was a no-brainer.
"They help veterans and families affected by PTSD and other brain injuries by helping them rehab through unique treatments," Dehnert said. "We couldn't think of a more relevant group to work with during July, the month of our Independence Day."
As a company, Dugout Mugs has had a long-standing relationship with Wells and has worked with him for several years, every time being better than the last.
"The first time we collaborated was a couple of years back in New York City for the 20th anniversary of his perfect game," said CEO Kris Dehnert. "All the stars came out… Mariano Rivera, Jimmy Fallon and the cast of Saturday Night Live, Jorge Posada, and more!"
"Everybody that attended that event left with a Dugout Mug in their hand. It was pretty cool to see everybody leaving the Sony Hall rocking our product," Dehnert added. "The coolest part was that we even selected a couple of fans randomly from our Facebook page to join us. They got to meet everybody, got autographs and hung out all night... No better feeling than to show somebody an incredible time unexpectedly!"
In addition to our initial donation, a portion of all sales at DugoutMugs.com/DavidWells will go directly back to the foundation.

"We love to support the heroes of the baseball community, but we're also supporting the heroes of our country," Dehnert exclaimed.
