Nostalgia Packed In Every Dugout Mugs Order
The trading card market is heating up faster than a Gerrit Cole four-seamer. That nostalgia of tearing open the wax paper and finding that keepsake of your favorite player is more popular than ever.
To enhance the customer experience, Dugout Mugs owners Randall Thompson and Kris Dehnert recently purchased over TWELVE THOUSAND packs of 1989 Topps baseball cards they are including in every Dugout Mugs order.
“From all of the reviews we have online, it's obvious that people love our product,” said Dehnert. “But I just felt like the customer experience could be better. I believe that people remember how you make them feel, so I wanted to do something fun and different so when they're showing off their mugs, or talking to their friends, they share the fun experience they just had.”
For longtime customer Rick Maddock, the excitement of a new order and seeing the product never fades away. But when he saw a pack of unopened cards, it brought him back to his childhood, a moment that he was now able to share with his ten-year-old son.
“It was awesome sharing that moment with him,” he exclaimed. “Opening the pack, checking out all of the cool cards, telling him over and over that he can't chew the gum. Then rolling on the floor laughing because he would have tried it. Thank you for the memories and the cards, it’s such a great idea!”
Celebrating those moments, adding a little more fun to the world, and a little more excitement is just what Dehnert and the Dugout Mugs team had envisioned. No matter how subtle, at the end of the day, it’s about the company doing something to make somebody else’s day better.
According to Dehnert, Maya Angelou said it best when she said, “People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
“I feel like the better we do at connecting with our fans and customers, the more they will continue to love and support our company,” he added. “That is a win-win in my opinion.”
