The Baseball Heart - Note from Randall Thompson

The Baseball Heart - Note from Randall Thompson

Readers and Thompson Mug Company fans,
The number four has been relevant in my baseball life for as long as I can remember. It was the first number I wore that was printed on the back of my uniform in tee-ball. That number stayed on my back up-till my high school playing days. At one point, some coaches and teammates knew me as the nickname "Four."
---
With that said, it is awesome to announce that the fourth mug of the month and possibly the final of the year is the one in which I get to honor a great influence in my life, my mom.
---

---

She was my first baseman when my dad was fungo'ng me ground balls at shortstop on the backfields during my Little League days.

She was my backbone when I struggled to get through high school baseball.

She was my biggest supporter when I began to find my way in the college ranks.

She was the first smile and hug when I got a call to play professionally.

And, most importantly, like most moms---she did it all without expecting anything in return.

---

The baseball heart mug will support the Greater Orlando Heart Walk---a walk that my mom will be participating in for her third year. During this walk, she will be honoring, spreading awareness, and raising money for strangers in need, and the loved ones she has lost to heart disease.

---

Thank you for all you do, Madeline.
